Hi,
I just installed Archlinux on a separate LVM partition, so I'm now dual booting with Windows and Archlinux. From Gnome, I can see the other half of the hard drive dedicated to the windows installation, however when I double-click it in Nautilus to access its contents I get:
"Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied."
Any reason for this? Note, again, that this volume (partition) is NTFS, so I'm not sure if this can be mounted. Also note that I am not logged in a root, which may also be part of the problem since I don't believe I have permission to mount drives unless I am root.

It can be mounted. Try following this steps http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NTFS_Write_Support

This is what I've had to do as a temporary solution, however my main goal was to get it showing up as a "drive" in Gnome. They already show up that way I just can't access them through that method. I want to get that specific method working if possible.

If I did understand you want your drive to be recognized by HAL (like a portable hard drive ou usb drive would be). Follow this steps: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HAL#NTFS

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
