i made arch packages for these two apps: icoconvert and pngtoico
i have used these apps in another distro before with no problems. however in arch i get weird errors:
[dibble:heaton] temp: icoconvert *.ico
!: 9 icons.
malloc: Cannot allocate memory
ICON: 256x256 32bpp Sz:0
that's for icoconvert
[dibble:heaton] temp: pngtoico crumpler.png
crumpler.png: Not a palettized image
that's for pngtoico
i know this is a but vague but i dunno where to start - these apps are a bit low key for huge websites with FAQs

mem allocation? what kernel do you use?
The impossible missions are the only ones which succeed.

latest stock 2.4 - just discovered there is a newer version of icoconvert - am trying that now
.:edit:.
all ok now - tried icoconvert2 which uses gd 2.0 - that works fine. found an alternative to pngtoico called png2ico :? - that works fine too
If you want to convert windows icons to use in linux icoconvert is indespensible
