mirror speed / offline install advice

Hello everyone.

I am looking to jump on the Arch wagon, but am located in Madagascar where my internet is horrible at best.

I was wondering if there is a tool to find the fastest mirror during install, or if there was a way for me to download the packages prior to installation so I can install Arch offline.

You can get the core cd wich has all the base packages on it so you won't have to download them during the installation. After that, you will have to download the packages. You can use rankmirrors to get the fastest mirror for you.
