Mono Color Scheme?

Is there a way to configure the colors used by applications running under Mono?

When I run Rawr the application looks rather terrible.  This is because I use a dark theme using black/aqua and the programs menus and such decide to use my aqua text on the light background, making everything a bit hard to read.   I've noticed that using lxappearance to change my theme did help, as now the text is black/white, so I can at least do that for now. 

I was wondering if there is a way to configure a GTK theme to work on mono apps.  Or perhaps, a way to modify my rawr.sh to change my theme, start the app, and then change my theme back again.
