Can shutdown but hang on reboot[solved]

hi,

Im having problem with reboot.
I can halt ok, like the pc shutdowns and power off ok

but when i do reboot, it says rebooting system but it hangs for a very long time, and i have to hard reboot it.

This situation never happened before i did a pacman -Syu.
I've upgraded to the latest kernel 2.6.8.1 via pacman

thanks

Re: Can shutdown but hang on reboot[solved]

I have the same problem on 2 computers.  I was able to solve this on one by  disabling APIC in the bios. On that computer because there was a segfault and a message about 'no more processes at this run level'.  On the second it just hangs at the end of the stopping services list.  I am running 2.6.8.1-mm4 and 2.6.8.1 with udev.

Well downgrading from 2.6.8.1 helped with the reboot problem
