KDE 4.2: newly installed apps don't appear in menu

Hello!

After installing new apps via pacman I have to restart KDE before they appear in the menu. Is there something wrong, because I can remeber it otherwise. And is there a solution? Or do I have to restart KDE?

Greetings,

Piotr.

Re: KDE 4.2: newly installed apps don't appear in menu

i have the same problem with kdemod, and i have found that instead of restarting kde, right click on kicker and go to the menu editor and clicking save will also update the menu.

You can also get them to show up immediately by running kbuildsyscoca4 from the command line under your user account.
