SLI with two nvidia 8600 gt's

I am having a problem configuring xorg and the nvidia driver to get sli working

i do not know where to go from here i have tryed 2 device sections as well as the nvidia-beta package from AUR
i have not installed the nvidia other then with pacman

Thank you for at least looking this is the first time i got a real answer i mostly just get keep your luxury problems to your self.
yes i did read Chapter 25
in particular the end witch has 2 test to see if the graphics cards are detected by the kernel correctly

the first shows that both cards are detected
>> sudo lspci | grep -i vga

yes i do have the sli link cable i have tried 2 cables and both cards work as separate screens simultaneously
