can you install arch from a DVD?
This is what i tried:
Burn .img to a bootable DVD at normal DVD burn rate (like 8.0x)
Burn a bootable .iso to DVD
Burn just the files to the DVD
Nothing has worked
When it starts up it just says GRUB
.Nothing else happens, what should I do Archlinux forum users?
I have a Dell Dimension 4600 (Pentium 4 2.8GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD, XP Sp3 pro)
My computer can not burn DVDs so I burnt from another computer with Roxio

maybe your computer cant read dvds? burning an .iso to the dvd should be enough to boot from it.

I'm pretty sure it can Because My computer hasn't had trouble in the past playing DVDs like Borat and Beerfest on my computer

maybe try buring the dvd at a lower speed then?

Some computers can not boot DVD+R. Try DVD-R if you're not already using it.
Edit: Or perhaps it is the other way around. Try another standard +/- than the one you're using atm.

ight, I'm try these different tweaks on my disk. I think it might be the +/- on my DVDs since my computer is kinda old.

Why are you burning a dvd instead of a cd?

I don't have a blank CD, I think i am just going to but a 4GB usb drive from Newegg. Then try that, but I will try any more suggestions
Edit:well i guess i could just buy or borrow a smaller one since the img file is only like 158 MB...
