gdm problem

I just installed gdm as in wiki. when i reboot my system gdm startted but after 4 or 5 sec
a massage said : "There already appears to be an x server running on disply :0. " and ,,, with
yes and no buttons, sellecting no dosn't help and sellecting yes starts another x server on tty8! hmm
now i have tow xservers on. what can i do to stup this?

Disable GDM from starting automatically on bootup and check if your X will start on its own

How did you configure GDM to start, using /etc/inittab or /etc/rc.conf?
