So I was running the printer program on kde and when I try to add a printer at the end of all the stuff when I try to save it says "the password may be incorrect"
I have no Idea what password it is talking about since I never inputed one.
{The kde printer program is a gui of cups.}

Which "kde printer program" are you talking about?

I think it is just a gui for cups. it is called "printing"
when I open the program the title is printer-configuration- localhost

Any CUPS configuration needs the root password. I'll be that's what it's asking for.

Is there any way to fix it so it doesn't. Why would kde put a program on there that can't work.
1. you can't login to kde as root
2. It doesn't ask me for a password it just says it is wrong.
any suggestions?
Could this just need some configuration in CUPS?

nm I just found out that my lexmark printer doesn't come with any ppd file to allow cups to work with it. what a rip.

For point #1 above, just put http://127.0.0.1:631 in your web browser. That's the CUPS GUI interface. And, which Lexmark printer?
