ALSA headphone not working

I have searched some threads but haven't come to anything - perhaps my sound card is different.

So I recently installed Arch on a new PC (Everex gPC3). The headphone port in the front of the computer does not work. In alsamixer, the headphone column cannot grow more than "00", while everything else is fine. The sound card I have, as alsamixer says, is "Realtek ALC662 rev1". How can I get it to work?

Thanks in advance.

Re: ALSA headphone not working

How do I test to see if the mic works? Is there a program to record stuff?

Yes sound on the backpanel works fine. It's a $200 PC, so it's probably an integrated sound card with the front panel plugged into the mainboard. (They wouldn't give me a jack without having it connected, would they?)
