Xrandr and Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on displ

Yesterday i reinstalled my system from the beginning up and have one problem with the program 'xrandr' which i use to get display on my second monitor.

xrandr --output VGA --right-of LVDS
Xlib:  extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":0.0".

I get the same fault whenever running any other applications requiring X, but then the applications actually perform.. in this case nothing happens at all.

If anyone would have a solution to this problem i would be very grateful as i spent all evening yesterday trying to solve it and this is kind off my last resort smile
