[SOLVED]Sound volume VERY low

Following the wiki, I've just set up alsa on a fresh base install. Using mpg123 and mplayer to test it, it appears that the volume is way lower than it should be, even with my speaker volume on max I can just hardly hear the sound. I've properly unmuted the soundcard and set Master, PCM and headphone to 90%. What did I do wrong?

EDIT: Confirming the same problem in flash.

Re: [SOLVED]Sound volume VERY low

Are you using an onboard card?
Post any other information that might be relevant too (card maker, chip set, have you tried it with Windows or another distro, etc).

Re: [SOLVED]Sound volume VERY low

Never mind, turning up all channels in alsamixer seems to have done the trick.
