No good for me. The problem ONLY occurs when I have a skin installed. Any other time, I'm set. But if I attempt to skin VLC the whole things goes tits up.

I'm using OpenBox, no idea if that matters, trying both of the hx themes from GNOME-Look.

I've read somewhere, that the actual problem is with the latest 'libxml', true or not, who knows. Downgrading 'libxml' was the solution in that post. But as mentioned above, unticking the box in Advanced/codecs+other/subtitles, does the job quite well.
