Re: RFAD Repository - User's Request + More!

Include easy-e17? It just packages a small script and an install file (no SVN source), so it should be very light on resources.

Its fine if you don't include it, just makes things easier for users, since building a new binary package for a script takes extra unneeded time. smile

Thanks a bunch! I don't know if you want everything to be light or not, but mirage is a good image viewer with only one dep (pygtk).  Also maybe pypanel would be a good addition?

Mirage added. Pypanel's PKGBUILD cannot be found :S

Re: RFAD Repository - User's Request + More!

Why are you including packages that are already in the main repos (e.g. mirage in [extra], ldxe in [community])?

Openbox is also in the repos, it's nice to have it all in one place, though.

OK....   it just seems a bit of a waste of time.  I guess no-one will ever actually install them given they should put custom repos at the end of pacman.conf anyway.

Edit:  you could always apply to be a TU and maintain the additional packages in [community].

Where can I apply?

Re: RFAD Repository - User's Request + More!

You write to the aur-general mailing list with a blurb about yourself and your packaging experience.  You can either find a sponsor beforehand or ask for one on the list.  Although, I have just looked at the AUR and see you actually maintain no packages, so that might be an issue.

Yes, I know that. I am not experience with packages actually. I just read the wiki page about what TU's do and I cannot do that (yet). But I'll have to learn and start slowly in the AUR and then maybe, one day I'll apply. For now, I got this to keep it busy, as long as people want more and more packages.

Re: RFAD Repository - User's Request + More!

Should I add some top AUR packages?

Re: RFAD Repository - User's Request + More!

You do learn a lot from building you own package repo, maybe you should make a private one fully optimized for you specific system.

I've been thinking a little about applying to TU, but I'm not that experienced. I do have a few PKGBUILDs in AUR.
When do I know if I'm experienced enough? :-s (maybe not the topic for that)

Re: RFAD Repository - User's Request + More!

Sorry about the easy-e17 package, the maintainer has kinda messed up the PKGBUILD... It will be back as soon as it is working.

Re: RFAD Repository - User's Request + More!

It would be great if you could add Thunderbird-branded and Sunbird-branded to your repository. Btw, what about x86_64?=d

1) I do not run 64bit, so I don't have a repo for it, sorry.
2) I added both.
