automated website access

I'm trying to remember the name of a scripting language or a program of which one could script webpage interaction. Any ideas?

Re: automated website access

hm. is it possible to use a standard wget command/script that would work on most websites and automatically log one in and dump the output? say for example a script that would work on aur, bugs, wiki here on archlinux.org and facebook.com

With at least one of (if not both) curl/wget you can pass along post data.
