Is it possible to get rid of Akonadi on KDE 4.2

I kind of despise this whole akonadi server thing they have for the PIM and the fact that
it requires MySQL server to be running on a laptop or desktop is kind of silly.
What if you dont' use the KDE PIM?

I really want to get rid of that thing :-)

Re: Is it possible to get rid of Akonadi on KDE 4.2

Does Akonadi even run after a default kde(mod) installation. To me it seems that it does not and it starts only after I have gone to its systemsettings page. I can't see a mysql instance of mysql before that in the taskmanager. And if I uncheck 'use internal mysql server' it doesn't start anymore for sure.
Kde 4 has brought us archers a lot of extra configuration work for sure.
