File changes seemingly not taking effect

This is a bit of a noobish question, but anyways...

I've been trying to get a few things configured in arch that I've been too lazy to do for a long time, but for some reason my changes never seem to take effect...

For example, here is my /etc/sudoers file:

# User privilege specification
root ALL=(ALL) ALL

# Uncomment to allow people in group wheel to run all commands
%wheel ALL=(ALL) ALL

when i type in:

groups

as my regular user, i get the following:

groups
wheel network video audio optical storage users

But when I try to use sudo, it always rejects my password. What am I doing wrong?

Oh yeah... this is in the hardware section cause I meant to put my fstab woes in here as well... I'll do that sometime.
