Compiz-fusion and KDE 4.2 desktops dont seem to be getting along

I have installedKDEmod 4 and compiz-fusion. The KDE destops/Task Manager plasmoids and working with the Desktop cube.....
If i switch desktops using the cube, the task manager still shows the apps from desktop 1
If i change to desktop 2 using the desktops widget,  i cant find any of my desktop 1 apps on any side of the cube.... can find them again only by going to desktop 1 with the desktops  plasmoid...
Its as though compiz is squeezing a cube into each KDE desktop
compiz doesnt seem to be telling kde that the desktop has changed...
