gvim 100% cpu usage

I started noticing my gvim acting very strange lately. It starts with 100% usage and occasionally freezes when trying to write files. It also doesn't close at this point. I can't seem to find a way of providing any debug output since the debug mode and verbose modes don't seem to be showing any abnormalities.

I used to use gvim extensively and didn't have any problems. I've tried removing all my scripts and removing my vimrc / gvimrc, but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Some things that have changed on my system are:

- EXT4
- Kernel 2.6.28.7
- KDE4

Anyone else experiencing this? The regular vim works just fine and dandy.

Re: gvim 100% cpu usage

Hm, it seems it's related to this bug with gtk-qt-engine, however, i was not using the GTK-QT engine, rather I had an explicit GTK theme set: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/270972

If it start gvim with 'gvim -X' then the CPU usage problem is gone.
