From what i've read so far, I understand that there's a built-in module for my soundcard and that i can use it.
I've added 'snd-cmipci';'snd-pcm-oss';'snd-mixer-oss' to Modules section in rc.conf.
The modules seem to load just fine, but what next??? What should i add to modprobe.conf or modprobe.devfs to get my sound working.
Right now i'm in a text mode(downloading X in progress), so i don't even know how to check if my sound is working but i'm pretty sure that there must be sth in those configuration files for the module to load properly.
just pt your modules in /etc/rc.conf and edit your permissions.(check wikis).
After that you can install "alsa-utils" and set your volumes with "alsamixer".
#pacman -S alsa-utils
arch + gentoo + initng + python = enlisy
Cool. I got the sound working properly. Thanks for your tips:))
