Recent upgrade screwed my arch (mono sound, no screensaver..)

Ok so on my last pacman -Syu my #solved#screensaver stopped working, it is like its almost about to start (the screen fades away) and then back to desktop...#solved#

This one is pretty stupid also.. when I start firefox my graphic card starts to sing like a cricket...

#solved#But the major problem is that I'm having mono sound on EVERY app, i tried amarok and mpplayer, only one speaker plays sound (and one headphone)...#solved#

I'm using gnome, alsa, and im running arch on  a vaio fz11z (8400m gt nvidia, intel ich8 family sound card)

I had the same issue. Solved it by unchecking undirect fullscreen windows from Compiz settings manager (ccsm). It's found under general button.

In general, it is appreciated and customary to post solutions when found so that a forum search actually helps.

sorry about that, on the gnome panel volume applet, open volume control and i had to put the left bar in master up, and restarted arch. At least i think it was that..
