open office not installed package error

Starting over installing everything after installing arch. Trying to install open office.
pacman -S openoffice-base I get
error: could not prepare transaction
error:failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
heimdal: /usr/include/gssapi/gssapi.h exists in filesystem
errors occured no packages were upgraded.
checked which program owns gssapi.h and it turns out it is heimdal 0.7.2-6 and the heimdal that openoffice is trying to load is heimdal 1..2.1-3-i686
I could force it with pacman -S openoffice-base -f  but why did it not see that the heimdal was newer and install anyway?

Re: open office not installed package error

Arch is a rolling release system. You should update always you whole system with pacman -Syu before installing new packages. heindal 0.7.2 is terribly outdated.
