I have problems connecting to my wireless network.
i do the following:
iwconfig wlan0 essid "ThomsonDC484E" key s:*****
then,
dhcpcd wlan0
and i get the following message:
wlan0: dhpcd 4.0.10 starting
wlan0: broadcasting for a lease
wlan0: offered 79.103.74.172 from 192.168.1.254
wlan0: acknowledged 79.103.74.172 from 192.168.1.254
wlan0: checking 73.103.74.172 is available on attached networks
wlan0: leased 73.103.74.172 for 86400 seconds
wlan0: add_route: No such process
i think that it has something to do with the route tables

I tried with WPA, WPA2 and WEP.
With WPA/WPA2 i get :
wlan0: dhpcd 4.0.10 starting
wlan0: waiting for carrier
wlan0: timeout
With WEP i get:
wlan0: dhpcd 4.0.10 starting
wlan0: broadcasting for a lease
wlan0: offered 79.103.74.172 from 192.168.1.254
wlan0: acknowledged 79.103.74.172 from 192.168.1.254
wlan0: checking 73.103.74.172 is available on attached networks
wlan0: leased 73.103.74.172 for 86400 seconds

Give wicd a try if you can. I have been too lazy to figure out how to connect to wireless networks by hand mostly because of wicd, as it worked for me since I first tested it .
If you can't use wicd most probably you are forgetting something and I'm sure someone will notice whats wrong and give you a hint .

dhcpcd -k will drop the currently given (default) IP schema. Im at work but when I get home I could give you my wpa_supplicant.conf.
also this is one of the best wireless articles on the web:

That is what i am using. I wish i could get the rest of my bootup to continue while it starts because right now it stops all the boot procedure and takes like 4 seconds.
If i could have that go while starting up it would be perfect.

In this case you should put an '@' before the network and net-profiles words inside the DAEMONS line of /etc/rc.conf.

Actually i was reading my last post and was going to write you need an '@'. Thanks for noticing my question.
