hp pavillion dv9000 gets hot and shuts off sometimes

i have tried doing the cpu frequtils and used the guide. but when i try to use it. i get an error saying i have no driver or its unknown.

thats what happens..

any suggestions? usually my computer starts off low but it doesnt go back down when im done watching a video or somthing

sorry guys i was using the wrong driver i was using the normal one not the powernow k8 or w/e i needed
