Boot problem

Hello there...

Yesterday I updated to kde 4.2.1. But several problems occured. A strange thing: When I booted I saw an error message like this "Loading Console Layout 161"   "FAIL" or something like that...Also, the colors of the boot messages were gone and they were only gray...So I went in rc.conf and changed CONSOLEFONT="161" to CONSOLEFONT="" and USECOLOR="no" to USECOLOR="yes".Did I do the right thing? If yes, why these options were changed after the update?

Re: Boot problem

First of all updating kde shouldn't have anything to do with your rc.conf. If there were some changes in this file, then it means that:
a) it was missing (fs error?) and was placed anew by initscripts update—check /var/log/pacman.log about latest initscripts update,
b) you or some software changed it—maybe you're using some automated config files updater or some updated package did that (packages in arch can do anything by the way),
c) pacman bug showed up.
I think that latter is the least likely.

Answering your other question: you did good, as long as it fits you to use default console font.
