It looks nice but their processor choice is going to bring them down quite a bit as far as speed goes.

Re: A touchscreen opensource tablet?

hm..
this processor is enough- arm's are different than x86, so they cannot be judged only by frequency- for example, this processor is able to give us a 720p playback.
I'd be rather concerned about its memory- it has only 256mb of ram.

btw, OpenPandora seems to be more powerfull hardware- although its display resolution is a drawback hmm

I was waiting for something like this. Definetelly going to buy arm-based netbook. May be not this device, I'll wait untill more of these will appear. But this is IMHO near to ideal for netbook. Long battery life in this case is more important than cpu frequency...

BTW, didn't like OpenPandora because of its game-oriented keyboard

Re: A touchscreen opensource tablet?

That is some beastly battery life, but the non-x86 proc worries me. Not _so_ much speed, but app support. Linux helps (although no Arch... will have to get Debian or Gentoo), but still. Few games, no (official) Flash, etc.

I'd rather wait until the Atoms of today are available to choose with newer netbooks/tablets to get the same battery life.

although pacbuilder is broken for me atm, i'm sure it's possible to keep a non i686 system up to date.

It's nice and the same issue the others thought bothered me of processors. If we put it aside then it's really good to use. I like the battery life most.
