Hi
I've just installed OSS4. sound playback works perfectly but i have a problem to make my quickcam pro 5000 recognized.
I'd like to use it for audio capture (microphone) in skype.

OSSv4 has very poor support for USB microphones. I have a QuickCam for Notebooks and it does not recognize it. Your particular microphone may be on of the few supported, but usually threads at their site end with no solution found.

Hope it will be well supported soon

You can try their forums. Maybe someone there got that particular mic working:

No answers for the moment, still waiting...

Mind you that built-in microphones in webcams usually suck .... a lot. They pickup all kinds of noise which can be a big nuisance to the person on the other side.
I have a usb logitech headset and luckily it is recognized by oss but only if it is plugged in _before_ I start oss (i think).
