lenovo thinkpad R500

hi everybody.

i just got a hp lenovo r500 and - to be honest - i am a bit disappointed on the state of linux-compatiblity even though most things work out of the box. wireless, usb, ethernet, graphics, bluetooth and so on is all fine.

however, i have two main "problems". the first is, that i am not able to get the integrated webcam running. i can't even determine the model. lsusb and lcpci output is given below (after running hwd -u of course)

the other thing is about special keys. while i can suspend the r500 to ram easily by running pm-suspend from cli, I just can't use the special keys (fn+...) for anything (locking the screen, suspending,..) except for increasing and decreasing the brightness of the display.

anyone else here owns a r500 thinkpad and minds to share some thoughts?

Try installing the acpi-support package from AUR. It should make the FN keys work. But really, it is only a question to configure /etc/acpi/handler.sh properly.

Hi,

have you checked the BIOS (webcam activated)?

I use cheese, perhaps you can give it a try.
