i want my laptop to hibernate when battery is too low. Although i can suspend/hibernate via options in gnome-power-manager, it doesn't hibernate my laptop when battery power is critically low as i set it.
What should i do?

Yes it works, it also suspends when i close the laptop lid and machine wakes up successfully. But as i said g-p-m does not hibernate when battery power is about to end.

Can you post your /etc/PolicyKit/PolicyKit.conf if g-p-m works for you? And also how does g-p-m decide that battery power is critical, by percentage or by time; where can i configure it?

hi,
I have this same problem.
My policykit file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!-- -*- XML -*- -->
<!DOCTYPE pkconfig PUBLIC "-//freedesktop//DTD PolicyKit Configuration 1.0//EN"
"http://hal.freedesktop.org/releases/PolicyKit/1.0/config.dtd">
<!-- See the manual page PolicyKit.conf(5) for file format -->
<config version="0.1">
</config>
I have set to control critical state by percentage by gconf-editor.
G-p-m don't inform me about critical or low power - that's strange
With regards
