Hi all,
I've been playing with different Windows Managers and a few Desktop Managers lately.
Today I installed e17 from a fully working lxde setup and now deluge won't load.
I installed e17 as suggested in the wiki:
pacman -S e17-svn desktop-file-utils e17-extra-svn
I still haven't removed lxde, I just edited my .xinitrc.
I've tried selecting deluge from the application menu and nothing happens.
I've tried running it (as user) from the terminal and all it does is spit that python2.6 deprecation warning before going back to a blinking cursor.
I've tried running it via sudo (and gksu) and it spits out the same error as above but never progresses to the blinking cursor.
I've tried opening a root shell (via su) and get the same as above.
I've tried reinstalling deluge, no change.
I've only been playing with enlightenment for a few hours now, any ideas?
edit:
Oh, I've also replaced the default file manager with pcmanfm.
When I try to access /home/"user"/.config/deluge it freezes the whole computer and I have to restart x.
I noticed this because according to the permissions my normal (non-root) user doesn't have write privileges and that doesn't seem right.

I can't help you with your main problem, but for this one, just do:
sudo chown -R $USER:users /home/$USER/.config/deluge

Just curious, how did you do it?

@killa b - thanks, that took care of that.
@binky - I just installed pcmanfm and removed the module for the default filemanager. Sorry, I forget the exact steps to remove modules, I'm not currently 'enlightened'
Ok, when I change my .xinitrc and login to my lxde setup deluge loads fine, but when I change my .xinitrc and login to e17 - still with the problems.

See /var/log/* for any related thing to deluge.

Deluge doesn't work with python 2.6, check if that is the version you are using.

I'm pretty sure I do have python 2.6 installed, but why would it work with lxde/openbox as my DM/WM but not with e17?
It's running perfectly fine right this second under lxde/openbox but the second I restart x into enlightenment it gets all cranky like an old man.
I doubt it matters but I'm logging in with slim in both cases, perhaps that makes the enlightenment gods angry?

Deluge works with python 2.6.
Anyhow, have you tried deleting /home/"user"/.config/deluge ?

btw , deprecation warnings are not errors . The output in the terminal you describe implies that deluge is working .
Did you try 'dbus-launch deluge' ?
Are you logging to both sessions with the same user ?

@xaiviax - I adlready deleted /home/"user"/.config/deluge and had the same results.
@Nezmer - I know the deprecation warning is not an error, I just included that bit of info for completeness. I am logging in to both sessions with the same user. I will try launching with 'dbus-launch deluge'.
Thanks for the help everyone.

Finally had a chance to try this, it gave me a couple of additional deprecation warnings and the cursor kept blinking, but nothing ever started.
I'm going to be reformatting and starting from scratch in the next few months anyway (it's a bad habit of mine;) ) so I'll try it again then without having the lxde stuff installed first.
Oh well, thanks for the help.

I use e17, and just by curious installed deluge, and it is working. So I recommend you try `rm -rf .config/deluge/` and starting it again from the command line and see what happens.
