awesome - focus when switching tags

Hey,
so I finally switched from awesome 3.0 to 3.1. But now, when switching tags, no window really seems to have the focus. I mean when I switch to tag1 for example (firefox and 2 urxvt) I can use firefox, but it's not highlighted in the taskbar and I cannot use Mod + j to switch to another window unless I press CTRL+Mod+j first. Any ideas?

Same problem here. I currently use awesome with gnome, and have one gnome-panel underneath. When switching to an empty tag the panel will take focus. Othewise the symptom seems the same.

hmm, sounds strange

im using awesome 3.1 straight from the arch repos and everything works fine here

Oh and I have the same problem on my machine at work, so I don't think it's anything specific to my setup
