[Solved] XFCE + QT4 = Garbled text

Using XFCE4 + QT4 programs (VirtualBox + Smplayer) I get garbled text in XFCE with testing (up to date), the problem is like:

This does not happen in Openbox or Xmonad (have not tried any other WM) so should be isolated to XFCE. Configuring qtconfig with openbox does not change the QT settings for XFCE. Any idea? Have yet to find a solution to this...

I thought that was probably all it was but I didn't have time to check I will look at it tonight when I get home from work.
