scanner sharing problems with saned

hi!

i've got hp psc1350 printer/scanner/copier connected to my pc. it printing well, also sharing the printer works ok, but i can only scan locally..
i followed this tutorial and i guess, i did everything right, but when i try to connect to the scanner from another pc in the network, it says "no devices available".
in /var/log/messages.log i can find the row:

xinetd[19417]: libwrap refused connection to sane-port (libwrap=saned) from 172.16.0.4

but if i turn off the xinetd and run saned in debug mode manually, i can connect without a problem and it works well..

does anyohe have an idea what's going on here??

Re: scanner sharing problems with saned

solved finally!! after a long time of googling around with no result, i finally found out, that i have allow saned do receive connections from the network also in /etc/hosts.allow:

#
# /etc/hosts.allow
#
saned: 172.16.0.0/255.255.255.0

# End of file

i'm gonna add this hint to the "USB scanner support"  wiki page smile
