slow dns resolving

Heya,

I don't know what could really have changed in the last 4 days or so, but suddenly dns resolving is very slow in firefox and konqueror (for google a phew seconds, maybe even 6 seconds or so).

However, the dig-command gives fast responses (about a second or so).
I read that it could be something with the 2.6 kernel and added somthing to my /etc/modprobe.conf:

alias net-pf--10 off something like this),

but no luck ... it seems there is still ipv6 in my local loopbackn but there was none reported on my ppp0-link (the alias-command it to turn of ipv6 it seems ...). I though that there was a sit0-connection before and then it worked great (and sit0 seems to be ipv6 ...).

So, how do I turn ipv6 on and off and any other possibilities that could be causing these problems are welcome. Dns-resolving is fast in Windows with firefox.

thanks,

Michel
