I deleted /opt/NX on my nxclient...
On realizing what I did I tried a pacman -Rn nxclient followed by a pacman -Sy nxclient to have the install programme recreate /opt/NX. Well, it didn't.
What to do now? Feeling somewhat lost...

I really do not understand that. "pacman -S nxclient" should create /opt/NX if it is not there... Try again?

Current version of NXclient installs to /usr , not /opt.
look for /usr/nx .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Really.... nxclient-3.3.0.6-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz has /opt/NX in it.

Okay, I think I also got confused with /usr/ and /opt/ here - it was late last night...
So I started over with pacman -Rns nxclient freenx just to get rid of everything. I then did an updatedb followed by a locate NX:
[toad@archtop toad]$ locate NX
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/local/opt/NX
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/local/opt/NX/home
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/local/opt/NX/home/.directory
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/remote/opt/NX
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/remote/opt/NX/home
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/remote/opt/NX/home/nx
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/remote/opt/NX/home/nx/.directory
...
a bunch of /sys/...
...
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.3.3/include/objc/NXConstStr.h
/usr/share/alsa/cards/TRID4DWAVENX.conf
/usr/share/man/man3/CMSG_NXTHDR.3.gz
/usr/share/man/man3/ExtUtils::MM_QNX.3perl.gz
/usr/share/perl5/core_perl/ExtUtils/MM_QNX.pm
/usr/share/ri/1.8/system/Resolv/DNS/Config/NXDomain
/usr/share/ri/1.8/system/Resolv/DNS/Config/NXDomain/cdesc-NXDomain.yaml
[toad@archtop toad]$So I renamed /home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/local/opt/ to /home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/local/opt.bak and likewise with its remote counterpart. Then
pacman -S nxclient followed by another updatedb. Now a locate NX spits out
[toad@archtop toad]$ locate NX
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/local/opt.bak/NX
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/local/opt.bak/NX/home
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/local/opt.bak/NX/home/.directory
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/remote/opt.bak/NX
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/remote/opt.bak/NX/home
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/remote/opt.bak/NX/home/nx
/home/toad/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror/view_properties/remote/opt.bak/NX/home/nx/.directory
... bunch of /sys/ stuff
...
and a bunch of /opt/NXI suppose a pacman -Ql nxclient would have produced the same result ![]()
Anyway, cut a long story short, here is a screenshot of the error message I get:
Since then I've come across this http://www.nomachine.com/ar/view.php?ar_id=AR03C00167 - but it doesn't make any sense to me. Anybody know how I set a library path? Oh yes, and I'll be googling, not to worry ![]()
