Finally some good, opensource drivers for newer Ati gfx cards
Here is changelog: http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-driver … 08886.html
Cannot wait when it will be possible to test them on Arch
[edit]
They are already in AUR ! http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=15374

But the ati driver needs libdrm>=2.4.5. It is only in testing

Well ... that shouldn't be an issue, hope xorg-server 1.6 hits extra soon libdrm should come along with it

You do know xf86-video-radeonhd already supports those GPUs, and the new -ati driver is (I'm pretty sure) just a port of that support over?
@Dinth: Try tweaking your Xorg.conf... make a new one with Xorg -configure and/or hwd and try tweaking that... etc. I'm guessing you're using an Xorg.conf made from the AMD tool, and that that one doesn't work with the OSS driver?

Ranguvar: no, thats confirmed KDE bug. Radeonhd is terrible slow at 2D and also causes Plasma crashes for me
