xorg and font loading

Just upgraded to xorg 11R6.8.0-2 and upon entering fluxbox noticed my fonts had changed.  Turns out that the fonts weren't loading.  I edited the fluxbox theme file many times to no avail, even if I pointed to the .ttf file explicitly.  I was told "Failed to load font: "fontnamehere"
Anyone else experienced this?  Downgrading fixed my problem.

Re: xorg and font loading

You can set your fontpaths in both xorg.conf and /etc/fonts/local.conf .

eg local.conf
<dir>/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF</dir>
<dir>/home/jens/.fonts/texcm-ttf</dir>

arch + gentoo + initng + python = enlisy

Re: xorg and font loading

Hmmm... I have something similar. It can't load "Speedo" and a trip to the path shows that the Speedo dir is missing it's fonts. It does contain fonts.cache-1 file. Happened after the upgrade.

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: xorg and font loading

I think some fonts support has been dropped in Xorg 6.8.
Check the Changelog to see exactly what, I don't really remember.
