Overview of PolicyKit?

I'm looking for a good overview of Arch's implementation of PolicyKit. I keep seeing it crop up in different threads, but I haven't yet found, at least in English, a good overview of PolicyKit as it relates to Arch. It looks as if it's going to be playing a larger and larger role in Linux, and I'd like to get a grasp of things, though the details will likely go over my head.

There's a good French page here: http://wiki.archlinux.fr/systeme:policykit. I don't see the English counterpart, though.

@mods: I wasn't at all sure where to post this query. Please move this thread if you see fit.
