I having a problem accessing computers in my local network. I cannot ping or connect to my server (192.162.1.104) or the router. Internet works perfectly though and right now I am having to access my server though its dyndns name. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
my ifconfig if it helps:

I suppose that there is a typo and that the server IP address is 192.168.1.104 and not 192.162.1.104
Aside from that, do you have the server name and IP in your /etc/hosts? If you do not I cannot see a way for your machine to locate it in the LAN.

yes, that was a typo.
And I have not done anything with my hosts file. I am not trying to access it by servername, just by the ip address. Same with the router. I usually just type http://192.168.1.1 and the router password prompt pops up. I dual boot and it works fine in windows. It also worked fine with my other router at school. Could a recent package update have broken it?

Perhaps... wireless connections are wonky at times. Try installing wicd and give it a try, see if it helps.
