mp3 player: Sansa Fuze is not recharging

Hello Forum,

my Sansa Fuze is not recharging on my new arch installation. It does perfectly on the same usb port on xp/vista on every machine I've used it till now. I already searched the www but did not find a clue.

$ uname -a
Linux djZab 2.6.28-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Mar 8 10:18:28 UTC 2009 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9400 @ 2.53GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

I suppose this might be wrong usb setting or a kernel problem. Is it possible that the kernel prevents a device to draw more energy from the ports then allowed in the specs?

update: it doesn't work on my ubuntu 8.10 box either

Regards,
teal

Re: mp3 player: Sansa Fuze is not recharging

I have a Sansa MP3-player lying around and I had to push a combination of player's buttons in order to get it to connect to my linux-box at work (debian). Don't know anymore whether it recharged without pushing the button-combination or not. Might give it a shot?
