Install

I did a ftp install and it started download packages and the screen when black shoud I leave it like that? Or did somthing go wrong?

I think it is still downloading stuff but I don't know the light on my router is going crazy.

No really should I restart or see if it does anything the light on the router is blinking so I guess it is downloading somthing.

I had a similar problem one time.
I think it was something I forgot earlier during the installation.
It could be to hit "done" after the partitioning.
If you just choose to install "base" it should just be around 100mb download.

FYI when a console screen "goes blank" it just means the screen has gone to sleep. hitting any key (i use the space bar) will wake it back up (just like moving the mouse or hitting a keyboard key will wake up a full graphical desktop environment).

After a few negative experiences I've found that something that doesn't actually provide any input is safer, like CTRL or ALT rather than ENTER or the space bar. You never know what you might be confirming by hitting enter on a dark screen.
