error while starting gnome

A few days ago I started getting this error while logging into Gnome:

There is a problem with the configuration server.
(/usr/lib/GConf/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)

I click close and Gnome loads just fine.
Can I fix this somehow?

Re: error while starting gnome

i was working with KDE(xmms is running and it hanged) crash it. i was forced reboot system manually. after boot system when kdm went to loading come back to text mode. now kdm command don't work in the text mode. i edited inittab file to load gdm. gdm after reboot system loaded and i entered password and push login. but message "there is a problem with the configuration server (/usr/lib/gconf/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256).?
I searched a lot and i do very solutions in the net but not true. Few days there, I'm stuck with this issue. ?
