Do motherboards need drivers? individual busses?

Do motherboards need drivers?  Also, do you need a seperate driver for all of the different busses on the mobo?  If so, do they come bundled together?

As far as I know all drivers for supported boards are included in the standard kernel source. If it's not there, you've got a problem.
