Oy, when i frequently switch back and forth between tty's and KDEmod, it locks when i have switched to kdemod, forcing me to use the magic sysrq key. What logs is it that i should look for errors in? Google didn't help me very wuch as i don't know whether it is X, kdemod or anyting else that locks. I found the Xorg.0.log file but it didn't look right, there was no errors at all there.
Using a dell dimension 4600, ATI graphics card, kdemod.

Known issue if you're using the Catalyst/fglrx driver. Use xf86-video-radeonhd or xf86-video-ati if they're usable for you, or wait until they are (or until the Catalyst bug is fixed).

Heh, looks like i didn't use catalyst O_o
I changed some options in xorg.conf after what the ATI page at the wiki said, hope it will be fixed now.

okay, crashed again today, when i had switched from X to tty3 launched a script, tty4, launch script, X == crash
when trying to recreate the error i booted up, started X in tty1, logged inte tty2-6 changed to X and it freezed.
catalyst is uninstalled. Using xf86-video-ati (as far as i know =P)
note, after crashing i pressed wrong with the magic sysrq key and shutdown the first i did == lost configuration files in kdemod (yes I'm using ext4...:( )
edit: In some weird way, losing configuration thingies solved a lot of small problems i have had with kdemod O_o thanks for crashing X and thanks for losing data ext4 xD
