Openbox upgrade replaced /etc/xdg/openbox settings files

Hi all,

Does anyone else had problems after the last openbox upgrade ?
It looks like the /etc/xdg/openbox files (autostart.sh, menu.xml, rc.xml) have been replaced without generating .pacnew files.

...or have I distroyed them in any way...

Thanks

Since those files were never intended to be used for your personal settings, I'm not surprised. Generally all of the Openbox settings files should be copied to ~/.config/openbox.

Re: Openbox upgrade replaced /etc/xdg/openbox settings files

Ok, I was confused by the pacman messages when I installed it then.

Place menu.xml and rc.xml in ~/.config/openbox
They can both be found in /etc/xdg/openbox
upgraded openbox (3.4.7.2-1 -> 3.4.7.2-2)

autostart.sh was the only one I changed in /etc/xdg/openbox. The 2 others were modified in home dir.

I didn't notice that when I upgraded. No wonder why you were confused; you actually read the message! I'll file a feature request to have autostart.sh added to the post install message.

Re: Openbox upgrade replaced /etc/xdg/openbox settings files

Indeed, it has a sense to add it since the openbox website is referenced in the openbox wiki and says:

The autostart script is located at ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh. If that file does not exist, then the system-wide default script, located at /etc/xdg/openbox/autostart.sh, is run instead.

Thank you very much for help! smile
