..to copy a DVD...

Howdie,

I have a DVD here (original, mind you, payed for and all that..) which unfortunately suffered a bit through the years.
It IS one of my favourite concerts to watch, so it has been played a fair bit. That added to the fact that my DVD-Players error correction seems to get worse and worse over the years, I was thinking:
Why not make a copy of that disc onto a fresh medium and hope that will help.
Now, copying it with k9copy worked just fine.. or at least it appeared to. But the new disc wont play in my DVD-Player.
It DOES play in my PC just fine, which makes me think it has to do with the scrambling, right?
Can anyone point me in some helpful direction?

Re: ..to copy a DVD...

You could try to scan the DVD with "badblocks -v /dev/sr0".

Re: ..to copy a DVD...

No bad blocks reported..
But to elaborate on that: Does that mean k9copy should be able to make copies even of protected DVDs?

Re: ..to copy a DVD...

If you have libdvdcss and k9copy installed you should be able copy most stuff. Look for a tutorial on the web for k9copy of which there are several.
