Automounting. Once more

Hello. Writing this post under win, because linux drives me insane now mad
Realy tired to read tones of docs about things, that i really don't understand.

I want to have automounting of usb storage devices.
Now I can mount with a simple click my 1gb sandisk only under root and only in pcmanfm.
As my primary fm is tuxcmd, I want automounting that doesn't depend on fm. But pcmanfm always will be my secondary fm, I think, so if automounting may be realised with pcmanfm as daemon it's ok.

Need to say, that I don't use any DEs (I'm orthodox arch user wink ).

And please, tell me someone, what is hal? Does hal automounts devices? I read something about some replacement of hal. Do I need to replace hal?

TNX in advance for replies and TNX for reading my howl of despair (it is good now, that I don't know English well lol)

thank you, but I have read these articles already. Article about hal is just unclear for me sad .

Some time ago I tried to use thunar - effect is the same: can not mount under normal user, but while mounting with pcmanfm provides me with correct file naming (fs is fat32), mounting with thunar gives me just lots of "?" signs...

And yes, I'm already in storage and optical groups.
