I have a personal server that's on 24/7, and I want to run BOINC on it to make myself feel better about using so much power.
I've struggled with error codes and various BOINC interfaces and am about ready to give up!
The first fiasco was the -155 error, which I read up on and fixed (although it keeps coming back).
Now, I'm doing everything right, and BOINC is still complaining:
I'm getting err -102 (http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php … d4b1a635ea)

I can't use the BOINC gui, because it uses a weird port on localhost (it isn't telling me which), and most of them are blocked. Whenever it tries to connect, it spouts "cant connect" errors. I've tried the Arch boinc package, but the binaries are all called different and the config files are in weird places.. also, I get Auth -155's even after I've deleted the .BOINC gunk in my home.
I would appreciate some help.
I really need to get BOINC working!
thank you

According to a wiki (http://www.boinc-wiki.info/Firewall), the magic port is 31416. How do I open it so the boinc gui will work?
thank you
