[kdemod] missing transparency of the panel

Hello,

I just installed kdemod but I miss the transparency of the bottom panel knowing from some screenhots. How can I activate this feature?
I think my graphic card is installed correctly - and glxgears works.

So where is the problem?

Make sure that compositing is turned on, and that you are using a transparent Plasma theme (i.e., Oxygen, Elegance)

Hello machoo,

the thing with compositing was also my first thought but where can I find adjustments to activate compositing? Why isn't it activated by default?

I've fount it smile

Now everything looks fine despite gtk apps like wicd. I heard about some programs that fix that problem like qt-curve.

Which one is currently the most recommendable?

Uniform look for QT and GTK apps.  I currently use the gtk-qt-engine-svn from the kdemod-extragear repository, and things look pretty good.
